Sakae Sushi Malaysia

Yes. Today we will talk about this well-known Sushi Restaurant in Malaysia- Sakae Sushi.

It is actually a restaurant originated from Singapore since 1997 and today it has grown into global chain of more than 50 outlets throughout Asia and currently we have more than 13 outlets in Malaysia (I think more coming soon).
It is actually one of my favourite place for Sushi and some even say that it is a better version of Sushi King. (I personally AGREE)

This restaurant basically make me feel easy and relax. And that's why it was always so crowded during weekend, sometimes even weekdays.
This restaurant is quite popular in my community and some of my friends also fancied this restaurant very much.

Personally there are some foods that is tasty and some that doesn't.
It's about your cleverness in making choice. Some food they serve are very tasty, some doesn't even worth for you to pay for it. So, make a smart choice!

They have displaying sushi on the moving tray, and there are plenty of rice, noodles, side orders, desserts for you to order through menu.
They have this very remarkable feature: e-ordering.
Customers may order their foods with the staff, or order foods through the monitor screen. They prepare menu on the screen and all you have to do is to touch and confirm the order.
*Some outlet is now upgraded into Ipad Ordering- Which i found it extremely easy and interesting.

How about the price?
It is actually depends on what you've ordered, if your perfect goal is just to make yourself full and pay less, just order low-price foods (eg green plates sushi)
If you wanna try something out and to enjoy the meal without even care about how much you need to pay, well, enjoy the varieties they show you on the menu.

Generally they have 5 types of colours of plates on the tray:
Green (RM1.99)
Pink (RM3.99)
Red (RM 5.99)
Black/Yellow (Sakae Special-price vary)

Here are some foods review with picture attached, and some without pictures.
(DO NOTE that picture from this blog post is a combination from my few experience in Sakae Sushi in few outlets in Klang Valley. Most of them were from The Curve outlet and some of them were from 1 Utama /Fahrenheit88.

Sakae Green Tea (RM1.20). In hot or cold; depends on your need. Some outlets got a hot pipe beside each table for you to refill yourself while some outlet is to be refilled upon request.

Miso Soup (RM1.90) I ordered this every single time i come to Sakae Sushi. It's my starter soup. =)

Displaying Sushi tray - from Fahrenheit88. Notice the monitor for each table.

1 Utama Sakae Sushi- featuring touch screen monitor.

Green Plates- BEFORE the 'Sakae Inflation'- the Kakiage and Salmon sushi was on green plate- but now- Pink Plate.
The Kakiage(fried vege) now- RM3.99- It's bigger and served with  special sauce- comparing with the green plate before inflation- this is actually better.
Spicy Salmon Roll- RM1.99- Taste nice and spicy. Personally like it very much.
Red Plates- Rm5.99- I can't remember their names- it was the teatime promotion where we can get 1 free 1 red plates- so we just took from the tray. Taste just ok. Doesn't actually worth RM5.99

Dragon Cheeseroll (i think this was what it's called)- Around RM12.90- Taste NORMAL- nothing special- not worth.
Fried Chicken (I forgot the Japanese Name)- RM7.90- This is actually quite nice with lemon. =)
Toriyaki. RM5.90- It's juicy! Quite nice!
Soft Shell Crab Tempura- RM12.90- Just OK. Prefer SSC from Sushi King.
There are, ofcourse, lots and lots of foods from Sakae Sushi- Just without the picture-
Here are some recommendation that I remember:

Curry Chicken Don- RM12.90
Teriyaki Chicken Don (also available in Beef)- RM10.90 (Chicken)
Maki (Cucumber/Salmon/Crabmeat)- Green Plate (RM1.99)
Potato Salad-  RM3.99 (Nice for potato lovers)
Salmon Sashimi (RM5.99- 3Pcs)- Quite Fresh and thick.
Fried Salmon (RM5.99)

Also giving credits to Plain Rice (RM2.00) if you are not satisfied enough with the Sushi Rice.

Sakae Sushi also featuring SAKAE CARD (i've got one) for you to collect points and the points can be used the next time you visit to offset your bill! =)
You can enjoy special price on special item and also member day promotion!
They are now also giving e-voucher for members which highlights some food for just RM1.
RM20 per year is needed to apply the card unless you've spend RM1000 in a year then the renewal fee for the next year will be free.

Sakae Sushi is available in several main shopping centre in Klang Valley and also in Penang.

Sakae Sushi The Curve (Above and Below)
Sakae Sushi 1 Utama
THOUGH, There are some comments from me for Sakae Sushi:

The Curve outlet- The service was good, but now it's bad. Staff starts to play hide and seek and ignorance.
and WHERE IS THE AIR COND NOW!? The temperature get customers away!
The iPad sometimes is kinda faulty. So unlucky for those who sat on the table with the faulty iPad. Cannot change seats if there's many customers. They have to order with the staff, which the staff is playing ignorance.
The tea refill is a problem when the staff is playing ignorance. why not do like Sushi King?
Each table has a teapot- fast and easy- we easy and happy.

So afterall, it's still my favourite place to have a meal. For those who have not tried it out, find some chance! visit their Facebook Page or Website to find out more!
